The South Norfolk countryside and quiet country lanes are perfect for cycling and luckily there aren’t too many challenging hills!
Whilst it isn’t possible to cycle on the footpaths which form the Boudicca Way a similar alternative route can easily be achieved using quiet country roads.
A number of local bed & breakfasts belong to the Enjoy England ‘Cyclists Welcome’ scheme so you can be assured of a warm welcome and safe storage for your bikes when you arrive at the end of a day in the saddle.
South Norfolk District Council has developed nine cycle routes in the district, plus a South Norfolk tour, under the banner of ‘Bike It!’. The routes are available for download here, maps include information on pubs, shops and interesting features.
Bringing Your Bike By Train
The Boudicca Way starts/finishes at Diss and Norwich mainline railway stations (London Liverpool Street line). Bicycles are carried FREE of charge on Greater Anglia when accompanied by a valid ticket holder, however all spaces are subject to availability and must be reserved.
The Sustrans website can be used to find all routes of the National Cycle Network and provides a comprehensive choice of safe, attractive walking and cycling routes perfect for days out as well as long distance or holiday routes.
